We're almost there, folks. Just 4 days till Tri. I am more excited then nervous. I don't feel stellar about the bike ride but I know that I can do it so that's keeping me at bay. Mostly, I just want to rock it. When I finish something big like this, I always feel like a rock star. Then it will be time to start training for my half Marathon (October 7th)
So far this week, I've done one 30 minute run, a one hour (CRAZY HARD) hill workout, and a Body Pump class. Seriously cannot recommend Body Pump enough. I've gotten some really good results in the 2 months I've been doing it. We're talking arm muscles, the ability to actually do push ups, and while I'm not there yet, I definitely feel like my abs are coming, lol. It's no long flab, so I'm definitely going in the right direction. There's this one instructor for the class- I want her body. You know, tall and skinny, but not model skinny. Healthy with muscle that says "yeah, I work out," but not body builder status. That's what I want. I lost about 5 lbs this summer but I gained some muscle so I think maybe I've gotten some of the weight back. No matter, I continue to workout and (try) to ditch the junk. I have gotten compliments from people about my body so I feel like I'm going in the right direction. I'm going to swim or possibly spin tonight, depending on who the spin instructor is. I can't go to a spin class if the music is bad. I need loud stuff. Obnoxious stuff, lol. Then I guess a few more bike rides, swims, and runs, how ever much I can get in before Saturday. Saturday my mom and I are driving up to New Jersey and staying there over night to get revved up for the race, which is on Sunday. My outfit will consist of Tri shorts (from Asics) and a quick-dry, high impact bra from Athleta. I'm not sure if I'm going to throw a tank over the bra when I get out of the water. I haven't been in to running topless but my stomach is starting to improve, and it will take a few seconds off my transition. I will wear bike gloves and my knee braces. Also a sweaty band. (Never leave home without your sweaty band) I'm pretty excited for the day, and can't wait to get down to half marathon training. I go back to school soon so plenty of places to train there.
