Long naps

So yesterday I had my meet at Sunken Meadow Park on Long Island. And the race was at like 12:00 which really sucked because can't eat that much before I run so I'm pretty sure all I had was a cereal bar before I ran and then when I was done I had a donut and half a peanut butter sandwich. I know, I'm a health food nut. By the time we got back to NYC, it was almost 5:00 and I was planning on getting some much needed food (no way was I cooking) but instead I fell asleep. It wasn't a power nap where you wake up feeling all refreshed. It was a what-time-is-it, what-day-is-it??? type nap, which made me feel terrible. My mom called me and I guess I sounded terrible because she seemed kind of worried. I had every intention of being totally lame and just eating and sleeping on a Saturday, but my roommate and I forgot that we had two episodes of Downton Abbey to watch, so I was still up until 1:00 AM. Oh well. Brownies and Downton, it could be worse. And if you watch Downton, I don't want to give anything away, but have some tissues cuz oh man, that one was rough. The next day, I had every intention of going running but...... I got new sneakers, instead. For being on the cross country team, the school buys us a pair of sneakers. They didn't have New Balance at the store we go to so I got Nike. I was pretty surprised when I got to have pretty sneakers for once. The Lunar Glides are cute!! I haven't run in them yet, but I'll let you know. Even if they end up not working out, I can always use new walking sneakers. I walk so much, I always need a good new pair of shoes.  Early run tomorrow any hopefully some cross training.
