Preparation

My half is in 5 days! Do I feel prepared? Not in the slightest 0_0. What am I doing to rectify this feeling? Doing some running (but not too much) and psyching! What is psyching, you ask? It's when my friends and I continuously call each other and plan every detail of the race down to the color our socks will be and who's bringing the post race cookies. (that would be me, of course) Since this is the Divas half, I need to wear pink, of course. But I will also be wearing my purple team singlet. So pink running skirt, pink socks, purple singlet, pink sweaty band, knee braces { :( } and my tried and true pink sneakers. I will also be wearing a watch (no gps) and possibly my iPod. I always run with my iPod but since my friend will be pacing me, I might ditch it or if I bring it, it will just be for some background noise. Since I am waaaaay nervous about this race and I missed my longest run because unforeseen calf pain, (all better, thank goodness) I will start at a 10 min pace and try to gradually work my way up. The goal would be around 2:00-2:10. Not fast, I know but my only real goal for this is just finishing and feeling ok. If I can do this, I will be signing up for Flying Pig half in Cincinnati. That will I will better pushing myself. I got to 8 miles with no pain, so I feel like I will be able to gut out the rest, it's just nerve-wracking as I had planned on an 11 miler last week. If I had done that I would be worry free. Oh well, there's no sense in worrying about something that can't be rectified.
In other news, school is going along swimmingly but stressfully. This is actually my first real full week of school because we get off all the Jewish holidays. In short, this week feels looooooooong. Hahaha. I had one project due that I presented this week in package design and I have one more project due later in the week. I'll be doing that, mood boarding, and baking pink cookies for the race. Also, I have to catch up on my t.v. I'm behind on Bones and New Girl. I've been tuning into Revolution (thumbs up, I think), Fringe (awww yeah!!!), Grey's (hmmmm... too addicting... I know it isn't good but I can't stop watching. What does this mean?), and I missed the season premieres of Dexter and Homeland because my Showtime has been acting up but I plan to watch those, too. Too much television for a college student with a full running schedule? Nawwwwww.
