I've been in a funk lately- I think it's this bad weather. NYC keeps getting hit with these monster storms. I think we got about a foot of snow but it was so windy, that it was difficult to really be able to tell. I didn't get a Friday run in because by 3:00 pm, it was so windy out, school was closed. What do my roommate and I decide to do? Go to Pinkberry! We're so smart, nothing like a massive storm and some trendy froyo.
Walking to Korea town to get my froyo was the extent of my workout on Friday. Saturday afternoon, however, I got out there. For anyone who cares, they **do** plow the Hudson River Park. My run from my apartment to the park, however, was a total mess. My legs were killing me by the time it was over- all that pulling your feet from the snow over and over. After that, my friend called me and asked if I wanted to go on a walk. We went on a ridiculous 3 hour walk all around Central Park. This is my first time living in NYC and seeing a real snowstorm. If you recall, it only snowed once in NYC last year and it was in October right before Halloween. It all melted the next day. Central Park was GORGEOUS. I'm glad I didn't miss out, even if by the time I got back to my apartment, was ready to sleep for the rest of the weekend. But I went out a second time for more punishment on Sunday, though the conditions were a bit better as the temperature went up a bit.
Yesterday we got freezing rain, which was nasty and I couldn't get myself to run. The weather started to really bring me down. Luckily, I was saved by a friend who texted me and asked if I wanted to go spinning with her. I always forget we have spinning at my school. The class was okay but I was so happy to have a running buddy. When you have no motivation, what you really need is someone to drag you out. If she hadn't texted me, I probably would have skipped my workout.
Oh, I also baked blueberry muffins. What? I bake when I'm stressed. Okay, I also eat when I'm stressed. You got me.
