It's about 1 billion degrees outside. Okay, so maybe it's not that bad, but the thermometer hit 98 today and summer as only just officials begun. It's times like these that I'm incredibly grateful for the use of the gym. As a waitress, I work mostly in the evening, so I don't really have any reason to wake up early in the morning unless I'm trying to squeeze in a run. My little running group met at 8:00 to beat the heat but it was still in the high 70's when we finished. Today I took the workout inside. Sometimes I feel like a a bit of a wimp, running in an air conditioned room but the car ride to the gym had me sweating up a storm so I'm swallowing my pride.
I've lost a little more weight, which is nice. I'm down to 155. I'd like to get down to 149 by the end of my summer break, which seems achievable. I've been tracking what I eat and my not-diet with myfitnesspal.com. More that anything, it keeps me honest about what I'm eating and shows me what's really in what I'm eating. For instance, I had no idea bread and peanut butter had so many calories! I've taken to eating almond butter instead because it has half the calories and tastes virtually the same. I've also cut toast from my diet because I don't really need it. One bowl of oatmeal an Half a grapefruit is my new thing. In general body pump and swimming have really helped my core and I'm starting to feel stronger an healthier which is a really great feeling going into July. Saturday is the Pride Run which I will be doing to support my gay/ lesbian friends and just because it's a fun time! Also, I feel some new gear about to purchased so well see where that goes. I've never discusses my addiction to buying gear but let's just say I have a bit of an expensive habit... :)
