Freezer 5k- aka setting a baseline for spring training
We are not the most organized club, but we are the most awesome. Freezer 5k today after just one week of seriously spring training and over two months of not racing. I ran a 26:05 clock time. I'm not going to lie, it hurt and thats about an 8:20 mile pace- so not very fast. Still, I mainly ran as a time trial. I'm really trying to see where I am because this past fall was such a disaster in terms of training. I was sick for almost an entire month, screwed up my knee and needed five weeks of PT, I got pounded with school work, and the weather was pretty impossible (read: constant snow storms and black ice). It's ok, *@%^ happens, but I want to come back strong this spring so now at least I have a baseline to go from. And you know what? I'm actually pretty proud. I can do this. Spring training, here we go!
